Chilli Chicken

Ingredients:

  1. Boneless chicken - 1/2 kg
  2. Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  3. Chopped garlic - 1 tsp
  4. Onion - 1 small, cubed
  5. Green chilli - 2, slit lengthwise 
  6. Capsicum cubed- 1/2 cup
  7. Soy sauce - 3 tbsp
  8. Tomato sauce - 1.5 tbsp
  9. Red chilli sauce - 1 tbsp
  10. Corn flour - 3 tbsp
  11. Water - 1/4 cup
  12. White vinegar - 2 tsp
  13. Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  14. Salt - as needed
  15. Vegetable oil /canola oil -as needed
Preparation:

  • Wash well and cut the chicken into small pieces.Add 2.5 tbsp of cornflour, 1 tsp of soy sauce and enough salt to chicken. Mix well and shallow fry them.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute till the raw smell is gone.
  • Add in cubed onion , slit green chilli, salt and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  • To this, add red chilli sauce, tomato sauce, white vinegar and remaining soy sauce.Mix well.
  • Next, add in cubed capsicum and cook for 1-2 minutes.Do not overcook it.
  • Finally, add in fried chicken pieces .Add 1/2 tsp corn flour dissolved in 1/4 cup water and mix everything well.
  • Sprinkle 1/2 tsp pepper powder . Switch off the flame and transfer to a serving bowl.
