Veg Pizza

Ingredients:

For dough:

  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 2.5 cups
  2. Warm water - 1 cup
  3. Active dry yeast - 2 tsp
  4. Sugar - 1 tbsp
  5. Olive oil - 2 tbsp
  6. Garlic powder - 2 tsp
  7. Salt - 1 tsp
  8. Flour  - for dusting

For sauce:

  1. Tomatoes - 4
  2. Chopped onion - 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped garlic - 1 tsp
  4. Olive oil - 1 tbsp
  5. Italian seasoning - 1/2 tsp
  6. Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Red chilli flakes - 1/2 tsp
  8. Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  9. Cheese - 2 tbsp
  10. Salt - as needed
For topping:

  1. Onion cubed - 1/2 cup
  2. Capsicum sliced - 1/2 cup
  3. Tomato - 1, chopped
  4. Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup
  5. Olive oil - 1 tsp
  6. Salt - 1/4 tsp
Preparation:

Dough:

  • Dissolve yeast in warm water and set aside for 10 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together flour, salt, sugar, garlic powder and olive oil.
  • Add in the yeast mixture little by little and knead into a smooth and soft dough.
  • Cover it and let rise in a warm place for 2-3 hours until doubled.
  • Punch it down and dust with some flour.Flatten it with hands from the center towards outer edges on a floured pizza pan.
                                

Pizza sauce:

  • Add tomatoes in boiling water and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Peel off the skin and blend until smooth; set aside.
  • Heat olive oil in a pan and add chopped garlic.Saute for few seconds.
  • Add in chopped tomatoes and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add pureed tomato and bring to boil.When it gets boiled, add rest of the ingredients and mix well.Switch off the flame.
Topping:

  • In a bowl, mix all the ingredients except cheese and set aside.

Preparing the pizza:

  • Spread the pizza sauce evenly on the prepared dough.
                     
  • Top it with the vegetables.
                    
  • Sprinkle cheese on top  .
                   

  • Bake in a 400 F preheated oven to 20 -25 minutes or till golden brown.
