A mouth watering menu of your favourite flavours

Ingredients:


  1. Heavy cream - 1 cup
  2. Condensed milk - 1 can
  3. Fresh  strawberry - 2 cups
  4. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Preparation:

  • Wash well and chop the strawberries into small pieces.Take half of them and set aside.
  • Puree the remaining half strawberries in a blender and keep aside .
  • In a large bowl, pour in heavy cream and start beating using a hand mixer or a whisk.Beat until stiff peaks form. Do not over beat it.
  • To this, add in condensed milk , vanilla essence and beat again for few seconds.
  • To this mixture, add the pureed strawberry and mix well.Next,add the chopped strawberries and fold  in gently.
  • Transfer the prepared mixture to a freezer safe bowl and freeze  for 3-4 hours.Garnish with few strawberry slices and enjoy this yummy dessert..


Ingredients:

  1. Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  3. Cold unsalted butter - 1/2 cup( 1 stick)
  4. Walnut - 1/2 cup
  5. Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  6. Milk - 1.5 tbsp
  7. Salt - 1/4 tsp
Preparation:
  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • In a large bowl, mix together wheat flour, sugar, salt and cardamom powder.
  • Grind the walnuts into fine powder and add  to the flour mixture.
  • Cut the butter stick into small pieces.Add in this pieces to the flour mixture and mix well using a fork.
  • Add in milk and knead the mixture to form a smooth dough.Wrap this dough using a plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough using a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface.Using cookie cutters, cut into desired shapes. 
  • Place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for about 12 - 13 minutes or until the edges of the cookies turn golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool completely.Store the cookies in an airtight container.





Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 1 cup
  2. Instant oats - 2 cups
  3. Brown sugar - 1 cup
  4. White sugar - 1/4 cup
  5. Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  7. Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp
  8. Unsalted butter - 1/4 cup
  9. Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
  10. Hot water - 6 tbsp
  11. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  12. Salt - 1/4 tsp
  13. Raisins - 1/2 cup
Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together all purpose flour, instant oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar, white sugar, vegetable oil and  vanilla essence.
  • To this, add the oats mixture along with hot water and mix together to form a smooth dough.Fold in raisins.
  • Make small balls out of the prepared dough and place on a lined baking sheet.Press down gently using your hands.Bake for 12- 13 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Transfer to a wire rack and let them cool completely.
  • Store in an airtight  container.


Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 1 cup
  2. Corn starch - 3 tbsp
  3. Butter - 1/2 cup
  4. Powdered sugar - 1/4 cup+1/4 cup for coating the cookies
  5. Powdered almond - 1/4 cup
  6. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  7. Salt - 1/4 tsp
Preparation:
  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • In a mixing bowl, add in butter along with powdered sugar and beat until creamy.
  • Next, add in vanilla essence and beat again.
  • To this, add all purpose flour, corn starch, salt and mix well.Stir in powdered almonds and combine  well to form a soft dough.
  • Make small balls out of the dough and place them on a lined baking sheet and bake for 15 - 18 minutes or until the edges become golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let them cool for some time.When the cookies are still warm, roll them in the powdered sugar and transfer to a wire rack.After cooling completely, roll them again in the powdered sugar.
  • Store in an airtight container.

Ingredients:


  1. Button mushroom - 250 gm
  2. Maida/All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
  3. Cornstarch - 1 tbsp
  4. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  5. Kashmiri red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Onion, cubed - 1/2 cup
  7. Capsicum(I used red, green and yellow mixed)- 1/2 cup
  8. Chopped garlic - 1 tsp
  9. Soy sauce - 2 tbsp
  10. Tomato Ketchup - 1 tbsp
  11. Red chilli sauce -2 tsp
  12. Coriander leaves/spring onions - for garnishing
  13. Salt - as needed
  14. Vegetable oil - as needed
Preparation:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine together, maida, cornstarch, red chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and salt.Add enough water to make a semi thick batter.
  • Clean the mushrooms well and cut them into quarters.Dip each piece in the prepared batter and deep fry them until golden brown and crispy.Drain onto paper towels.
  • In a non stick pan, heat oil and add in chopped garlic.Fry it for few seconds.Add in cubed onion and saute for 2-3 minutes.To this, add tomato ketchup, soy sauce and red chilli sauce . 
  • Add in cubed capsicum.Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.Do not over cook capsicum.
  • Sprinkle enough salt.Next, add the deep fried mushrooms and mix well until the mushrooms are coated with the sauce mixture.Switch off the flame.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves or spring onions.Serve hot with rice.

Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 1.5 cups
  2. Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
  3. Brown sugar - 1/2 cup
  4. Butter - 1/2 cup
  5. Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  6. Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  7. Milk - 1/4 cup
  8. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  9. Chocolate chips - 3/4 cup
  10. Salt - a pinch
Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • Sieve  together all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.Keep it aside.
  • In a mixing  bowl. beat together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until creamy.Add in vanilla essence, milk and beat again.To this, add the sieved flour mixture and mix until well blended.Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Take a spoonful of batter and place on a lined cookie tray.Repeat the same with remaining dough. Space the cookies about 2 inches apart on the tray.
  • Place it  in the oven and bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown.Let them cool completely and store in an airtight container.

Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 3/4 cup
  2. Cornstarch - 3 tbsp
  3. Unsalted butter - 1/2 cup( 1 stick) at room temperature
  4. Powdered sugar - 1/4 cup
  5. Salt - a pinch
  6. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Preparation;
  • Preheat oven to 350 F. In a bowl, add all purpose flour, corn starch and salt.Mix well using a spoon or fork.Keep it aside.
  • In another mixing bowl, take butter along with powdered sugar and beat using a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  • To this, add vanilla essence and beat again.Next, add the flour mixture and mix well to form a smooth dough.
  • Make small balls out the prepared dough and flatten them  using your hands.Place them on a lined baking tray leaving 2 inches in between.Using a fork, press down gently on top of each cookie.
  • Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.Remove from oven and let them cool completely.Store in an airtight container.


Ingredients:

  1. Wheat flour - 1.5 cups
  2. Sugar - 3/4 cup
  3. Baking powder - 3/4 tsp
  4. Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  5. Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
  6. Orange zest - 1 tsp
  7. Orange juice - 1 cup
  8. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  9. Salt - 1/4 tsp
Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 375 F. Sieve together wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.Keep it aside.
  • In a mixing bowl mix together vegetable oil and sugar.Add in orange zest, orange juice, vanilla essence and mix well.To this, add the sieved flour mixture as batches and fold gently.
  • Transfer this batter to a muffin tray lined with paper cups and bake for 20 minutes or until a skewer inserted to the center of the muffin comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool for sometime.


Ingredients:

  1. Whole wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. Ripe banana - 2 nos, pureed
  3. Milk - 1 cup
  4. Sugar - 1.5 tbsp
  5. Baking powder - 1.5 tsp
  6. Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp
  7. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  8. Salt - a pinch
  9. Butter - 1 tbsp+ for cooking
  10. Honey/Maple syrup - as needed
Preparation:
  • In a bowl, mix together wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon powder.Add  pureed banana ,melted butter, vanilla essence and milk to the flour mixture.Mix  until a thick batter is formed.Do not overmix.
  • Heat a non stick pan over medium flame.Melt some butter and pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan.Using the back of the ladle, spread batter into a round.Cook until some bubbles burst on top and using a spatula,turn and cook the other side until golden brown.Transfer to a plate.Repeat the same with the remaining batter.
  • Serve hot with honey or maple syrup and banana slices.

Ingredients:

  1. Yellow onion - 2, cut into 1/4 inch slices
  2. All purpose flour/maida - 1 cup
  3. Cornstarch - 2 tbsp
  4. Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
  5. Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Red chilli powder - 3/4 tsp
  8. Italian seasoning - 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt - as needed
  10. Water - as needed
Preparation:


  • Preheat oven to 450 F.
  • In a bowl, mix together all purpose flour, cornstarch, red chilli powder and salt.Add enough water to form a batter of semi thick consistency.
  • In another bowl, combine together breadcrumbs, pepper powder, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  • Dip each onion slice in the prepared batter and coat it with breadcrumbs.Place them on a lined baking tray in a single layer and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning upside down in between.
  • Serve hot with any dipping sauce of your choice.

Ingredients:

  1. Wheat flour - 1.5 cups
  2. Sugar - 1 cup
  3. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 3 tbsp
  4. Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
  5. White vinegar - 1 tbsp
  6. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  7. Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  8. Baking soda - 1/4 tsp
  9. Hot water - 1 cup
  10. Salt - 1/4 tsp
For chocolate frosting:
  1. Melted unsalted butter - 2 tbsp
  2. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 1.5 tbsp
  3. Icing sugar - 1/2 cup
  4. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  5. Milk - 2 tbsp or as needed
Preparation:

  • Preheat oven to 375 F.
  • In a mixing bowl, sieve together wheat flour, baking powder, baking soda , unsweetened cocoa powder and salt.Keep it aside.
  • In another bowl, mix together sugar and vegetable oil.To this, add vinegar and vanilla essence.Add hot water and mix well.
  • To this mixture, add the sieved flour and mix thoroughly without any lumps remaining.
  • Line a cup cake tray with paper cups and fill each cup about 2/3rd full with the batter.
  • Place it in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a skewer inserted to the cupcake comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and place on a wire rack to cool.While the cupcakes are cooling, make the frosting.Spread the chocolate frosting only after complete cooling.
  • For chocolate frosting, in a bowl, mix all the ingredients listed.Spread it evenly on the cupcake and enjoy!!

Ingredients:

  1. Quick cooking oats - 2 cups
  2. Water - 1.5  to 2 cups
  3. Chopped onion - 2 tbsp
  4. Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
  5. Green chilli - 1, chopped
  6. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  7. Urad dal - 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  9. Lemon juice - 2 tsp
  10. Asafoetida - a pinch
  11. Roasted peanuts - 2 tbsp
  12. Curry leaves - 1 spring
  13. Salt - as needed
  14. Oil - as needed
Preparation:

  • Heat a non stick pan and dry roast oats for 2-3 minutes.Keep it aside.
  • In the same pan, heat oil and splutter mustard seeds.Add in urad dal and fry for few seconds.
  • Next, add chopped ginger along with onion, green chilli and curry leaves.Saute until the onion turns translucent.To this, add turmeric powder  and a pinch of asafoetida. Mix everything well.
  • Add the dry roasted oats along with water and enough salt.Cover the pan with its lid and cook on medium flame for 3-4 minutes or until done.Switch off the flame and  add lemon juice .Add in roasted peanuts and mix everything well.
  • Serve hot with pickle, papad or any gravy of your choice.

Ingredients:

  1. Bread slices - 4 nos
  2. Whole milk - 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar - 2 tsp
  4. Cornstarch - 1 tbsp
  5. Cinnamon powder - 1/4 tsp
  6. Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
  7. Powdered sugar - as needed
  8. Butter - as needed
Preparation:

  • Cut bread slices into triangles and set aside.In a mixing bowl mix together milk, cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon powder and vanilla essence.Whisk the mixture until well blended.
  • Heat a nonstick pan and melt some butter.Dip each slice of bread in the prepared milk mixture and place it on the pan.
  • Cook the slices until golden brown on one side and then turn and cook the other side.Repeat the same with the remaining bread slices.
  • Sprinkle some powdered sugar on top and serve immediately.



Ingredients:

  1. Dosa batter - 2 cups
  2. Tomato - 2 nos, chopped
  3. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  4. Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Asafoetida - a pinch
  6. Salt - as needed
  7. Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp, chopped
  8. Oil - as needed
Preparation:

  • Take dosa batter in a bowl.Grind together tomato and cumin seeds along with enough salt to a smooth paste.
  • Add the prepared tomato paste to the batter.Add in red chilli powder, asafoetida and chopped coriander leaves.Mix everything well.
  • Heat a non stick pan or tawa on high flame.Once the pan gets heated, reduce the flame to medium.
  • Grease the pan with some oil and pour a ladleful of batter on it and spread in circular motion.Drizzle some oil on top of it.Cook until the dosa turns golden brown.Serve hot with chutney, sambar etc.




Serves - 1

Ingredients:

  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 1/3 cup
  2. Sugar - 1.5 tbsp
  3. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 1.5 tbsp
  4. Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  5. Chocolate chips - 1.5 tbsp + for garnishing
  6. Vegetable oil - 1 tsp
  7. Milk - 1/3 cup
  8. Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
  9. Salt - a pinch
Preparation:

  • Take a large microwave safe coffee mug.Add in all purpose flour, sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and mix well .Incorporate all the flour off the bottom of the mug.
  • To this, add oil, milk and vanilla essence.Mix everything well using a fork .Blend until all ingredients are combined and gently fold in chocolate chips .
  • Keep a paper towel in the microwave and place the mug on top of it.Microwave in full power for 2 minutes.(Mine was 1500 watt microwave.Cooking time depends on wattage of your microwave)
  •  Let it cool for 2-3 minutes.Top it with some chocolate chips and enjoy!!



Ingredients:

  1. Whole milk - 4 cups
  2. Sugar - 3/4 cup
  3. Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  4. Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  5. Ghee - 1 tsp + for greasing hands
  6. Cashews - for garnishing
Preparation:
  • Heat a wide non stick pan and add ghee.Add the milk and let it boil.when it starts boiling, add in sugar and reduce the flame to medium.Stir in between.
  • When the quantity reduces to half, add lemon juice and keep on stirring.
  • At this point, the milk will start to curdle and gets more thickened. After 4-5 minutes, it will start leaving the sides of the pan .The whole water content will evaporate and the milk solid will remain in the pan.
  • Add in cardamom powder and mix well. Let it cool completely.After it gets cooled, grind it to form a smooth paste.Set it aside for 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes, we can shape them.For that, grease your hands with some ghee .So that the mixture will not be sticky.Make equal sized balls out of the mixture and press them using your hands.Garnish with cashews or any other nuts of your choice.Yummy milk peda is ready to serve .Refrigerate the leftover ones.




Ingredients:

  1. Dosa batter - 2 cups(click here for recipe)
  2. Chopped red onion - 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped coriander leaves - 2 tbsp
  4. Chopped green  chilli - 1/2 tsp
  5. Grated ginger - 1/4 tsp
  6. Oil - as needed
Preparation:


  • In a bowl, mix together chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chilli, and grated ginger.Set aside.
  • Heat a non stick pan or tawa on high flame.Once the pan gets heated, reduce the flame and grease it with oil.
  • Pour a ladleful of batter on it and spread in circular motion.The dosa should not be too thin.
  • Sprinkle the prepared onion mixture on top and drizzle some oil if needed.
  • Cook till its base turns golden brown and after that, flip it and cook for 2-3 minutes or until done.Repeat the same with the remaining batter.
  • Serve hot with chutney, sambar etc.


Ingredients:

  1. Bread - 8 slices
  2. Milk - 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar - 1/2 cup
  4. Water - 1/2 cup
  5. Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Preparation:

  • Take sugar and water in a pan and bring it to boil.Reduce the flame and boil it stirring in between until it becomes thick.The syrup should not reach string consistency.Before reaching that point, remove from heat and add in cardamom powder and mix well.Set aside.
  • Take the bread slices and remove the crusts.Tear it into small pieces using  your fingers .Add milk little by little and knead it to form a smooth dough.While kneading do not apply so much pressure.Knead  gently.Shape the dough into small equal sized balls.
  • Heat oil enough for frying.Fry the prepared bread balls in medium to low flame until golden brown.While frying stir them in between .
  • Add the bread balls into the prepared sugar syrup.Keep it for atleast 2 hours before serving.Garnish with chopped nuts or saffron and serve.

Ingredients:

For cake:


  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 1.5 cups
  2. Unsweetened cocoa powder - 3 tbsp
  3. Sugar - 1 cup
  4. Baking soda - 3/4 tsp
  5. Baking powder - 1/2 tsp
  6. Water - 1 cup
  7. White vinegar - 1 tbsp
  8. Vegetable oil - 1/4 cup
  9. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  10. Salt - 1/4 tsp
For frosting:

  1. Heavy cream - 2 cups
  2. Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
  3. Confectioner's sugar - 1/4 cup
For filling and decorating:

  1. Chopped pitted cherries - 1/2 cup
  2. Whipped cream -1/2 cup
  3. Syrup that comes with the cherry or sugar syrup - 1/2 cup
  4. Grated milk chocolate - 1 cup
  5. Pitted whole cherries -8 nos
Preparation:


  • Preheat oven to 350 F.
  • In a bowl sieve together all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.Set aside.
  • In another mixing bowl, mix together vegetable oil and sugar .Add in vanilla essence, vinegar and water.Mix it again.To this mixture, add in the sieved flour.Mix both the wet and dry ingredients using a whisk to form a batter without any lumps.
  • Transfer to a greased baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a skewer or knife inserted to the center comes out clean.




  • Let it cool completely.Meanwhile, prepare the frosting.In a bowl take the heavy cream and beat it until it begins to thicken.Add in confectioner's sugar along with vanilla essence and beat again until stiff peaks form.
  • Place  the cake in a serving plate and cut it horizontally in half using a long knife.Remove the upper half carefully and set aside.On the cake on the serving plate, pour some cherry syrup generously and top it with cream.Spread it evenly and add chopped cherries.



  • Place the other half on top of it and pour the remaining syrup. Cover it with  whipped cream frosting.Reserve some cream for decoration.Refrigerate the cake for at least two hours.



  • Decorate the cake with remaining whipped cream frosting and top it with some cherries.Sprinkle grated chocolate on top and sides generously.



  • Refrigerate until serving.Slice and enjoy this yummy black forest cake..



Ingredients:

  1. Wheat flour - 1 cup
  2. Sugar - 1/4 cup
  3. Cardamom - 4 nos
  4. Black sesame seeds - 1 tsp
  5. Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp
  6. Salt - 1/4 tsp
  7. Water - as needed
Preparation:
  • Preheat oven to 425 F.Powder sugar along with cardamom and set aside.
  • In a mixing bowl, mix together  wheat flour, powdered sugar, sesame seeds, salt and vegetable oil.Add in enough water to form a smooth and soft dough.
  • Divide it into two halves and set one aside .With a rolling pin, roll out the dough into a thin sheet.Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into equal sized diamonds.Repeat the same with the remaining dough.
  • Transfer the diamonds to a baking sheet and bake for 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Let them cool completely and store in an airtight container.Enjoy this healthy snack with a cup of tea.
