Mushroom Matar Masala
Ingredients:
- Button mushroom - 2 cups
- Onion sliced - 1 nos
- Tomato chopped - 2 nos
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Green peas - 1/2 cup (fresh/frozen)
- Kashmiri chilli powder - 1.5 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsps.
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Cashews - 6 nos
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Salt - to taste
- Coriander leaves - to garnish
- Wash and clean the mushroom.Cut it into bite size pieces.
- Soak the cashews in water for 15 minutes. Grind it into a smooth paste and set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add onion and saute for 2 -3 minutes.
- Add in the ginger garlic paste.Mix well and saute till the raw smell is gone.
- Next add the spice powders and fry for few seconds.
- To this, add chopped tomatoes and salt . Cook till tomatoes become soft.
- Add in the sliced mushrooms and half cup of water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
- When the mushrooms get half cooked, add fresh or frozen green peas.Cover again and cook till the water gets dried up. The gravy should be thick.Check for salt. Add more if needed.
- Finally, add the cashew paste and mix well.cook for few more minutes.Switch off the flame.
- Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve with chapatis,naan.rice etc.
