Chicken Stuffed Buns
Ingredients:
- For bun:
- All purpose flour/Maida - 2 1/2 cups
- Active dry yeast - 2 tsp
- Lukewarm water - 2 tbsp
- Sugar - 2.5 tbsp
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Oil - 1/4 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Milk & butter - for brushing
- Sesame seeds - for sprinkling (optional)
- For chicken stuffing:
- Cooked shredded chicken - 2 cups
- Boiled and mashed potato - 1/2 cup
- Chopped onion - 1
- Tomato - 1
- Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tsp
- Chopped green chilli - 1
- Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Cilantro - 1 tbsp
Preparation:
- Dissolve the active dry yeast in lukewarm water along with 1 tbsp sugar and set aside for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl mix together all purpose flour, milk, remaining 2 tbsp sugar,oil,salt, and the yeast mixture.Knead well to form a smooth dough. The dough should not be sticky .If needed, add more flour and knead again till it becomes soft.
- Let it rest for 2 hours or till it doubles in volume.
- After it gets doubled, punch it down and divide equally into small balls.
- Take each one, roll and flatten them , fill with the stuffing, seal all the ends towards centre and roll into smooth balls .
- Place them on a greased tray and set aside for 15 minutes .
- Brush it with some milk. sprinkle sesame seeds.This is optional.
- Bake them in a preheated oven at 375 F for 20 minutes or until done.
- Finally, brush with butter.
- Heat oil in a pan ,add onions, salt and saute for few seconds.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell is gone.
- Add in the spice powders.Mix everything well.
- Add in chopped tomato and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Next,add the cooked, shredded chicken and mashed potato.
- Add chopped cilantro.Switch off the flame and let it cool.
