Chicken Stuffed Buns

Ingredients:

  • For bun:
  1. All purpose flour/Maida - 2 1/2 cups
  2. Active dry yeast - 2 tsp
  3. Lukewarm water - 2 tbsp
  4. Sugar - 2.5 tbsp
  5. Milk - 1/2 cup
  6. Oil - 1/4 cup
  7. Salt - to taste 
  8. Milk & butter - for brushing
  9. Sesame seeds - for sprinkling (optional)
  • For chicken stuffing:
  1. Cooked shredded chicken - 2 cups
  2. Boiled and mashed potato - 1/2 cup
  3. Chopped onion - 1
  4. Tomato - 1
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1.5 tsp
  6. Chopped green chilli - 1 
  7. Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  9. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  10. Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  11. Garam masala - 1 tsp
  12. Salt - to taste
  13. Cilantro - 1 tbsp

Preparation:

  • Dissolve the active dry yeast in lukewarm water along with 1 tbsp sugar and set aside for 10 minutes.
  • In a bowl mix together all purpose flour, milk, remaining 2 tbsp sugar,oil,salt, and the yeast mixture.Knead well to form a smooth dough. The dough should not be sticky .If needed, add more flour and knead again till it becomes soft.
  • Let it rest for 2 hours or till it doubles in volume.
  • After it gets doubled, punch it down  and divide equally into small balls.
  • Take each one, roll and flatten them , fill with the stuffing, seal all the ends towards centre and roll into smooth balls .
  • Place them on a greased tray and set aside for 15 minutes .
  •  Brush it with some milk. sprinkle sesame seeds.This is optional.
  • Bake them in a preheated oven at 375 F for 20 minutes or until done.
  • Finally, brush with butter.
Chicken stuffing:




  • Heat oil in a pan ,add onions, salt and saute for few seconds.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and saute till the raw smell is gone.
  • Add in the spice powders.Mix everything well.
  • Add in chopped tomato and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • Next,add the cooked, shredded chicken and mashed potato.
  • Add chopped cilantro.Switch off the flame and let it cool.
