Ingredients:
- Bread - 8 slices
- Milk - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Preparation:
- Take sugar and water in a pan and bring it to boil.Reduce the flame and boil it stirring in between until it becomes thick.The syrup should not reach string consistency.Before reaching that point, remove from heat and add in cardamom powder and mix well.Set aside.
- Take the bread slices and remove the crusts.Tear it into small pieces using your fingers .Add milk little by little and knead it to form a smooth dough.While kneading do not apply so much pressure.Knead gently.Shape the dough into small equal sized balls.
- Heat oil enough for frying.Fry the prepared bread balls in medium to low flame until golden brown.While frying stir them in between .
- Add the bread balls into the prepared sugar syrup.Keep it for atleast 2 hours before serving.Garnish with chopped nuts or saffron and serve.
