Kerala Style Spicy Prawn Roast

Ingredients:

  1. Cleaned Prawns - 2 cups
  2. Onion sliced - 1 
  3. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  4. Green chilli - 1
  5. Kashmiri  chilli powder - 1.5 tsp
  6. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  8. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
  9. Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. Curry leaves - 1 spring
  11. Oil - 1.5 tbsp
  12. Salt - to taste
Preparation:

  • Heat oil in a pan.Add the sliced onion and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and saute for another 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Next add the green chillies and salt. mix well.
  • When the onion turns golden brown,reduce the flame to low and add kashmiri chilli powder, turmeric powder,coriander powder and garam masala and fry for few seconds.
  • To this add the cleaned prawns and curry leaves.Cover and cook in medium heat for about 10 minutes or  until done.Do not over cook the prawns.
  • Taste - check for salt. Finally add the pepper powder and mix well.Switch off the stove.
