Butter Chicken
Ingredients:
For marination:
- Boneless chicken - 1/2 kg
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Yogurt - 1/4 cup
- Salt - as needed
For masala:
- Chopped onions - 2 nos
- Chopped tomatoes - 2 nos
- Butter - 2 tbsp
- Chopped ginger - 1 tsp
- Chopped garlic - 1 tsp
- Cinnamon - 1 inch stick
- Cloves - 2 nos
- Cardamom - 2 nos
- Kashmiri chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Cream - 1/4 cup
- Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
- Coriander leaves - to garnish
- Wash well and clean the chicken.Cut it into small pieces.
- In a bowl, mix the chicken pieces with the listed marination ingredients. set aside for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Take a non stick pan and heat oil. Shallow fry the chicken pieces and set it aside.
- Now, for the masala, take another pan and heat the butter.Add the cinnamon stick, cardamom and cloves.Saute for few seconds.
- Add chopped ginger, garlic, onions and saute till the onions turn golden brown.
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook for few minutes.
- Next add chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala. Mix everything well .Switch off the stove.
- Cool the mixture and grind it to a paste.
- Transfer this paste to the pan and saute for some time.
- Add enough water and let it boil.
- To this add the chicken pieces and cook for 15 -20 minutes in medium flame.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add in the cream and crushed kasuri methi.
- Simmer for few more minutes.
- Switch off the flame.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve!!!
